MAMA SITA’S COMMEMORATIVE STAMPS NOW PART OF THE OLDEST ACTIVE LIBRARY IN THE WORLD

A series of Teresita “Mama Sita” Reyes’ birth centennial commemorative stamps were donated to Klementinum National Library of the Czech Republic which were received by Director-General PhDr. Martin Kocanda last March 28, 2019. Along with the stamps, Mama Sita Foundation handed over a special edition of the centennial book “What Kids Should Know about Filipino Food” by food historian Felice Prudente Sta Maria and Mama Sita cookbooks entitled “Discover Mama Sita’s Flavors of the Philippine Islands”, “Homestyle Recipes” and “Lutong Bahay”. Present in the intimate event were Ms. Grace Bantol, representative from the Philippine-Czech community; Atty. Roberto B. Mabalot, Jr., Foreign Trade Service Corps Officer from the Department of Trade and Industry; Ms. Clara Reyes-Lapus, President of Mama Sita’s foundation and Madam Elsie Jainal, wife of Philippine Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Ambassador Ombra Jainal. The donations are now part of the treasures of the Klementinum National Library of Czech Republic, the oldest active library in the world built in 1555 by the Jesuits.
